I started working in my fathers' welding and plumbing business as a youngster. I received my BA in education of Industrial Arts in 1969 and my MS in 1976. I taught Industrial Arts in secondary schools in Des Moines, IA for 16 years. I was the co-owner/operator of an antique shop for 14 years in Valley Junction, West Des Moines, IA. Since 1985, I have been the full time operator of a refinishing shop/antique shop at the same location. I have been a member of the Des Moines Woodworkers Club since 1985. I attend many workshops and seminars that improve and broaden the background for this type of work.
